Mountain Farm in the Mühlwalder Valley
Authentic farming meets warm South Tyrolean hospitality.
Farming at the Hopfgartnerhof
Our farm work includes approximately 20 hectares of meadows and forests in the valley and another 20 hectares of alpine pastures. In summer, our animals enjoy extensive alpine meadows and high-quality mountain hay, harvested using modern techniques and gently dried. In our barn, we keep around 15 to 20 dairy cows, cattle, and calves, which we feed and milk twice daily. Our lovingly tended farm garden provides vegetables, herbs, and berries that we process into homemade products.
Play, Fun, and Animal Encounters
Children spend exciting days at our farm. Our playground with slide, swings, table football, and table tennis, as well as numerous outdoor games, ensures plenty of variety and exercise. During stable visits, young guests learn interesting facts about animals and farm life, can collect eggs, and taste fresh milk. Our rabbits and cats love being petted.
Farmhouse Delights
We’re delighted to spoil you with our homemade delicacies: fresh hay milk, free-range eggs, fruit spreads, honey, and various syrups.
- Upon your arrival, you'll receive a small taste of these farm products as a welcome gift.
- Additionally, once a week we surprise our guests with freshly baked pastries or cakes.
Our Hopfgartner Alm in Mühlwald
The Hopfgartner Alm is situated in a sunny location at an altitude of 1,800 m in the Mühlwalder Valley. Our alpine meadow is mown once a year – the fragrant mountain hay is a special treat for our animals. The rustic and cosy alpine hut invites you to linger and offers a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains.
